If you are reading this, there is a likelihood that a child in your life has been impacted by one or more loss experiences. It is our goal to assist you and your child in understanding, processing, and healing from the painful, distressing, or traumatic event(s) that they experienced.
Please note, due to the legal requirements of our child intake process, all new child or teen (18 and under) bookings must be booked directly with our administrative team by phone, email, or through the contact page on our website.
A change in behaviour is a common reaction to loss.
Your child may be experiencing the following symptoms of grief and trauma:
Afraid to try new things
Alcohol or drug misuse, abuse, or dependence
Aggressive behaviours including hitting, kicking, or biting
Difficulty adjusting to social situations or new situations
Difficulty following direction or expectations
Disclosure of suicidal thoughts
Engaging in self harm practices like cutting or burning
Extreme weight loss or gain
Frequent or constant worry or anxiety
Less interested in activities they once enjoyed
Noticeable or sudden loss of appetite
Physical complaints, despite being checked by a physician
Recurring nightmares, night terrors, or difficulty sleeping
Refuse to attend school
Struggling to focus and complete tasks in school
Stomachaches
Socially withdrawn
